This week, Pastor Parkey discusses adventure and how it can affect us. We as people love to go on adventures! Nowadays, multiple very successful businesses and franchises focus solely on adventure. Now, adventuring is good! We don’t want to settle and remain stagnant in our life! We can look at Joseph’s adventures in Genesis 37. One of the sons of Jacob, Joseph was the most loved son and hated amongst his brothers, at one point sold into slavery because of the hatred against him! Ultimately, Joseph ended up taking the journey of a lifetime.
Some important things to learn from these adventures as first that family dysfunction seeks to destroy dreams! When we throw a pebble into the water of our family, it can have long lasting rippling effects on every person connected. The key to dream fulfillment is often found in the lowest of places; wherever God calls us to walk, we must do so in humility and righteous upstanding, because it is intended to bring others to salvation! We have to win the battle of fairness, thinking that what is happening is not fair to us compared to someone else, because God is in control and He is going to use your situation for the good for His plan and bringing about of His kingdom on earth!
