This Mother’s Day, Senior Pastor Parkey Cobern’s wife and director of our Missions and Women’s Ministry, Rhonda Cobern, teaches out of Mark 5 about the story of the legion of demons. It stands out as an example to how we should act towards others, as Jesus loved and saved a man possessed by two thousand demons! This man--wretched, scarred, naked--lived in tombs where the dead resided, outcast from society and tormented by demons within. Jesus gave him attention and cast the demons out into a herd of pigs, who them all drowned themselves in the sea. Just as Jesus gave care and attention to the disturbed man, so He gives us attention, grace, and mercy though we don’t deserve, and hence we should do the same to others!
