This week, Pastor Parkey teaches on the spectrum of life and where we fall on it, from destitution to prosperity. Where we are is very important and dictates how we live our lives and act in different situations. The importance of how we act lands on whether or not we are truly living by faith, and does it reflect to others? This can be seen in the first chapter of Ruth, as she remained with her mother-in-law after destitution had ravaged their lives!
When faced with challenges, we often decide to pursue different avenues in life that better benefit ourselves, many times doing this rather than even trying to remain sensitive to God and obeying His direction. Sometimes, God’s glory shines through the adversity, and we have to be willing to remain where we are called over the pursuit of our own happiness. If we disobey and distance ourselves from God, He will begin the process of cutting all ties with us until we can no longer hear His voice or see His works, which is very dangerous! So no matter you are on the spectrum between destitution and prosperity, lean on God and His instructions!
