This week, Pastor Parkey Cobern continues our Christmas series “Season of Promise” with part 4 “The Birth of the Promise.” Something important about different seasons of promises are that they are often bound by covenants, and a covenant is a promise bound by character. This carries with it stages to the fulfillment of a promise. First, the promise becomes personal to us; we connect with it on a deeper level as we anticipate it’s coming affect on our life. Second, the promise becomes impossible; we begin to realize how impossible the circumstances have to be in order to fulfill the promises made to us, which guides us to trust in the supernatural power of God over our own understanding and power! Third, the promise becomes a possession; we have to own up to the promise, grasping it as our own and having faith that it will come to pass over us. Lastly, the promise is born!
