This week, Pastor Parkey looks at the account of 2 Samuel 6 and how we can apply it to our lives. In this scripture, we read that a man named Uzzah reached out towards to ark of God to stabilize it while on the road traveling with David. Something we would see as pleasing to God, because we don’t want something as important as the ark to fall or be broken, with it carrying a great worth, but God became angered and struck down Uzzah and killed him. We need to return to a place of reverence and understanding of God’s holiness and righteous standing! He is GOD, and we must respect Him.
Wherever God’s presence is, and where He tabernacles, that place becomes holy. When we don’t act in accordance to God and His word, we disrespect Him and our good intentions just aren’t good enough. Recognize who God is!
